35th Anniversary of Transforming Lives in Kenya by World Vision.

The government will continue partnering with Non GovernmentalOrganizations (NGO) to fight poverty, provision of education and health care among other needs, Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has said.

He noted that the government recognized the role being played by NGOs in supplementing its efforts in development, saying the government cannot do everything for its citizens.

The Vice President made the remarks today during the 35th anniversary of Transforming lives in Kenya by World Vision at their offices in Karen, Nairobi. He commended the organization for giving Kenyans hope in their lives.

World Vision is an International Christian humanitarian development and advocacy organization which has since 1974 been working among vulnerable communities in Kenya through funding various projects.

On the new constitution, Mr. Musyoka said it recognized the equality and all the rights of children including those who are disabled.

“Disability is not inability” he added.

He thanked all the collaborators and donors of WV for their continued support to Kenyans.

The Vice President said the government was committed to implementing the new constitution and challenged Kenyans to support its success. Mr. Musyoka noted that Kenyans had already started identifying themselves with the counties which will be the centres of regionaladministration and service people.

Present were the WV National Director, Mr. Girma Begashaw, Board Chairperson Dr. Rachel Masake, Past Chairmen Mr. Sam Muumbi and James Mageria, Bishop Jackson Ole Sapit and Board Members among other dignitaries.
